World class places, the government’s strategy for improving quality of place
[2009] The way places and buildings are planned, designed and looked after matters to all of us in countless ways. The built environment can be a source of everyday joy or everyday misery. It is an important influence on crime, health, education, inclusion, community cohesion and well-being. This strategy lays out how the Government will, over the next months and years, build on our record and do more to help create great places to live, work and bring up a family.
