Crime prevention solutions for Europe: Designing Out Crime
[2000] Crime is a phenomenon resembling somewhat the famous dragon with several heads. There are more than 25 types of crime to be distinguished. Besides crime there is fear of crime which is a different phenomenon. In this paper we will focus on the types of crime concentrated in urban environments and having an opportunistic nature. In short: crimes which might be reduced by urban planning and building design.
